Teach, Not Instruct

While most people tend to use these two words interchangeably, I feel as if they differ in one key aspect. As an instructor, you know how to present information one way. While it may not necessarily be a bad thing, having only one way to do something leads to missed opportunities. A teacher will adjust his or her way of presenting information to the student to fit that student’s learning style. Everyone learns at a different rate and in different ways, and it’s our job as teachers to determine which teaching style fits our students, and then adapt how we teach, rather than having the students adapt how they learn.
