Wetzel W. Tucker III was born and raised in Detroit, MI. Brought up in a single-parent household by his father, Wetzel had to overcome many adversities throughout his childhood. After attending an airshow, Wetzel was immediately but by the aviation bug, and his love for aviation turned into an addiction. In his elementary school years, Wetzel and his father were forced to move into a homeless shelter in downtown Detroit. Once again bouncing back from adversity, a family business was created by his father which taught Wetzel hard work and discipline over the 18 years of service to that business.

Wetzel later attended Davis Aerospace Technical High School on the east side of Detroit, where he conducted his first solo flight in an airplane and developed the skills needed to repair aircraft. After graduating, Wetzel attended 2 flight schools in an attempt to complete all of the required pilot ratings needed to launch his career. In 2010 he joined the Army where he would become an AH-64 Apache helicopter instructor pilot while completing his Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Aside from his role with us, Wetzel currently serves as a first officer with Spirit Airlines.
